Awful. Can’t even upgrade from essential to Premium. Guess CBS doesn’t want my money.
They must have had to try hard to make a streaming app this bad. (a) UI is super slow to respond to input, (b) video frequently pauses / janks, (c) after commercial breaks, about 85% of the time, it jumps back to the same section of video you *just* watched, sticking you in a loop of trying to fast-forward back to where you were… only to have to watch the same commercials again and again. And all this for a service we PAID for. Atrocious.
Hands down the worst streaming app I have ever used. When I tried watching Halo, things like pausing and fast forwarding were a gamble as to whether i’d have to hard reset the app. I’m now trying to watch an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation: “An error has occurred”, I am able to watch the episodes before and after it. I tried force stopping and clearing the cache of the app. I did a hard reset of the Nvidia Shield. Nothing worked. Doesn’t save progress between pc/web and app. Terrible.
They took off the Star Trek movies and the Original Series which was the primary reason I subscribed. (But P+ still does have the excellent Strange New Worlds.) The app makes it difficult to find out how to cancel. So bye Paramount until those Star Trek properties are back!
